Latest Updates from Our Project:

Happy New Year!
over 6 years ago – Fri, Jan 19, 2018 at 02:05:39 PM

Greetings Legends,

It’s the first Tuesday of the month, which means it’s time for an update. And not only is it the first Tuesday of the month - it’s also the first Tuesday of the year! So, Happy New Year to everyone! We hope everyone’s holidays were wonderful, and we also hope your 2018 is the best year yet.

As far as this update goes there’s not a ton to cover, but we want you to know that we’re still working hard on production. We’re waiting on a few extra character sketches from Abigail right now so that Francesco can use them to put the finishing touches on the last sculpts for the game. I (Chris) am working on final story edits and equipment lists for the main story so that we can get Ksenia working on the last of the rewards goodies. Matt & Ben are busy working on the bonus standalone Chapters that you all helped to unlock at the end of the campaign. All in all, we’re just plugging along on awesome things!

As previously mentioned, from the end of January through the last bit of February, things will be quiet on the production front from our manufacturer for Chinese New Year. But we are going to be working with the Panda plastics team this month to evaluate all the models and make sure that any potential snags are dealt with. Obviously when we have physical proofs of the minis to show off we will be providing pics - at least pics of those we can show you without spoilers!

Meet Maggie

We’ve added another person to the staff - the new Social Media Manager for Greater Than Games, Maggie!

Hi guys! Maggie here. I've been working on social media and marketing for the past three years and playing boardgames since the ripe young age of four years old. My first boardgame was Pretty Pretty Princess and since then my collection has grown immensely!

She’s already taken over all the Greater Than Games social media accounts, so if you interact with us on FacebookTwitterInstagramTumblrPinterest, or even Snapchat, she’s the one running all of those! You may also run into her in the comments section here and over on the Greater Than Games Kickstarters, so if you have questions please feel free to talk with her. Of course, you can always interact directly with me, Chris, as @dicehateme over on Twitter, as well - I’m not going anywhere, and I’ll certainly talk with anyone!

Conventions

One last thing to mention is that we will be sure to post in future updates about convention appearances so that you all can stop by and demo the game or check out production samples. As of right now, the earliest show we will be attending where I’ll have a demo copy of Sleepy Hollow with me is PAX East in Boston, which is from April 5 - 8. We’ll have more info. about that and our booth number in a future update.

We’ll be back soon with more on our progress. Until then, thanks for all the support and happy gaming!

All the best,
Chris, Ben, & Matt

Settling in for Winter
over 6 years ago – Sat, Dec 23, 2017 at 08:41:47 AM

Greetings Legends!

Well, it's the first Tuesday of the month which means it's update day!

We don't have too much to report on the production side right now, but we wanted to let you all know that we're still cranking on things. Art is being worked on for upgrades, items, and the remaining tiles, and we're working on finalizing the bonus Chapters that were unlocked during the campaign.

We'll likely have a more precise production timeline in January, and then there will be a lull during February as the production facilities in China shut down for Chinese New Year. Of course, we'll be back in January to keep you all updated and share more news.

In other news, the Greater Than Games/Dice Hate Me Games team attended the first PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia and shared Legends of Sleepy Hollow with lots of new fans and even some of you backers!

It was a fantastic show, and we plan to be there again next year. If you can make it out to Philly we highly recommend it!

Until next time, we want to wish everyone Happy Holidays and a wonderful New Year!

All the best,
Chris, Ben, & Matt

The Ride Is Over But The Journey Has Just Begun
over 6 years ago – Fri, Dec 22, 2017 at 09:13:29 AM

What an amazing campaign! We are so grateful for all of you for believing in us and this game. You all have been incredibly supportive and we are humbled by your generosity.

So, the campaign may be over but we're just getting started - now we've gotta produce this game! From here on out we'll be checking in from time to time to update you on our progress and to share sneak peeks at our process. For some of you this might be your first Kickstarter, so you'll be able to discover the complete process from finishing art to proofing to shipping to delivery! We have a tradition of updating our active campaigns on the first Tuesday of every month which means you'll always hear from us then. But at certain points in the process we'll be posting updates more frequently.

We will send out notices for our pledge manager before too long with instructions on how to fill it out and how to keep it updated if you move or need to change information during the production process.

Once again, thank you so much! We'll be back soon, but until next time, happy gaming!

All the best,
Chris, Ben, & Matt

All Stretch Goals Unlocked!
over 6 years ago – Fri, Nov 10, 2017 at 12:41:59 PM

Greetings Legends!

Wow, what a crazy 24 hours! We knew that we could expect an increase in pledges once the 48-hour notices went out, but this far exceeded expectations. You all brought in over $10,000 in pledges in a single day and smashed right through that last stretch goal. That’s pretty amazing.

Thank you all for helping us to unlock some great new content. You’ll all now be receiving a boxed expansion with two standalone Chapters, some cool Upgrades, and a nicely bound advanced Storybook. This is where we hoped we would end up by the end, and you all made it possible.

I know we keep teasing those closer looks at Jeremiah and Elijah’s stories and personal Totems, and I promise they’re coming in an update tonight once I get back into town! I know we’ve said it before, but once again thanks for making this a wonderful Kickstarter experience. You're all the best.

Be back soon,
Chris, Ben, & Matt

In These Final Hours Jeremiah & Elijah Persevere
over 6 years ago – Fri, Nov 10, 2017 at 11:55:05 AM

Whew, what a day! We’re in our final hours here in the campaign, and this is likely to be the last update before the smoke settles and we can pop open the champagne tomorrow. But before that I wanted to fulfill a promise. Back in Update #14 we started a closer look at the personal Totem cards for Matthias and Emily. Tonight we’re going to finally dig deeper into Jeremiah and Elijah’s personal Totems and learn more of the journeys that have made them who they are.

At the time of our story, Jeremiah Pincke is a brick wall of a man, soft spoken but with a forceful presence, and not easily rattled. He wasn’t always that way, however. As a child growing up in Boston, Jeremiah was small and often afraid to leave his mother’s side. The streets at that time were filled with the overbearing presence of those red-coated soldiers which left Jeremiah terrified of being outside. His father was a sailor, and because of that Jeremiah only saw his father a few weeks each year. That would soon change in March of 1770. After British troops shot and killed citizens on King Street on March 5 the town erupted. Two days after the incident a heated fight broke out south of the Common, startling a horse which galloped down the street carrying a heavy cart. Jeremiah’s mother was caught in the path. Heartbroken, and fillled with fear for his child’s safety amidst the chaos, the elder Pincke packed up what little they owned and took Jeremiah south, to a small settlement in the woods of New York. Without his mother for shelter, and because of the necessity of survival in a small settlement, Jeremiah began to rely on his father, helping with odd jobs and learning as much trade as his father could teach. They were poor, they were hungry, but they were safe. When Jeremiah was offered a job assisting the local undertaker he was eager to start but his shoes were tattered and the task would be arduous. Filled with pride, his father gladly offered up his boots to the young man, bolstering Jeremiah’s courage and conviction, and setting him on what would become truly a hero’s journey.

As a man of extraordinary faith, Elijah Kappel had always believed that God would provide - until the fall of 1780. That crisp, chaotic fall was the time when a strange flu struck his wife and three children, sparing Elijah, and leaving him alone without a family or a congregation. Up until that time Elijah had relied upon his faith and the guidance from God to gather his loved ones and bring them to the New World, away from the turbulence of the Netherlands and into a free and better place. For the next six years he would travel among the byways and backwoods of the American Northeast, accompanied only by his walking staff and a small pendant that belonged to his wife - a silver cross that she had brought from the Old World to the New. During his travels, Elijah witnessed countless strange mysteries and miracles, signs from the God he once knew and the often-invisible spiritual battle that unfolded in the shadows. He realized, after a time, that he need stop denying his faith and rediscover his path, so he returned to Sleepy Hollow to reestablish a congregation and study the mysteries he had witnessed. Now, Elijah leads a new flock of unlikely Heroes on a strange journey, armed only with his incredible faith and his staff and cross - the conduits through which he channels the incredible power to cast out evil and bring light to the darkness.

We hope you’ve all enjoyed getting to know our Heroes better. And this is just the beginning! Their search for Ichabod Crane will see them face their greatest challenges yet - and you’ll be guiding that story. We can’t wait until Legends of Sleepy Hollow is complete and you can discover the mystery and wonders inside this box.

All the best,
Chris, Ben, & Matt
